Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has hit out at the National Assembly leader of minority John Mbadi over his bill that seeks to cap donations at harambees at Sh100,000.
According to Mbadi's bill, public officers who want to spend more than Sh100,000 in a funds drive will have to notify the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission of the source of the funds.
But speaking at ACK Malel during the 36th Anniversary of ACK Diocese of Eldoret and the fundraising to construct church estate on Sunday, Sudi termed the bill as ill-intended.
"I read malice on this move of blocking us from giving money to help churches but no matter what, we won't stop since we know the importance of giving," said the MP who reiterated that if the opposition leaders do not want to give, they should not block those with a heart of giving.
"I urge John Mbadi and his leader Raila Odinga who don't believe in God and giving to leave us alone since they have a lot of money and we have never seen them even a single day helping to build churches through harambees," he added.
The bill has been seen as targeting Deputy President William Ruto and his allies who have been going around the country attending different fundraisers.
