A patient who was allegedly given wrong dosage before being subjected to mistreatment at Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital last week, has been successfully admitted at the neighbouring Christmarianne Hospital.
Jared Mokaya accused KTRH management of orchestrating his mistreatment at the facility, and even threatening to have him discharged without fully recovering. The hospital had also refused to hand him a proper discharge earlier on.
The patient, who was diagnosed with Meningitis, has since hailed the media for exposing his predicaments, a move that led to his safe discharge to another facility.
"Am Recovering now. I was warmly welcomed by the Sisters in the mission hospital. I thank the media for highlighting my case," he said in an interview.
Sister Beatrice Sabato, the Hospital Administator, confirmed that Jared Mokaya is in stable condition and he is recovering well.
"We received Jared in our facility. I can confirm he is under medication and stable. We will continue taking care of him until he fully recovers. Christamarianne being a mission Hospital, we accomodate everybody," she said.
KTRH is the largest health facility in South Nyanza and handles referral cases from Nyamira, Bomet, Narok, Migori, Homa Bay and other neighbouring counties. The management is however yet to address the case.
