The leaders led by Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka claimed that Maangi should not take the warnings lightly.

“I was a member in ODM party and I know how the party operates. Maangi should take Raila’s warnings seriously failure to which he will find himself in trouble with the party,” he said on Monday in the county.

Onyonka said Maangi should learn from his past when he jumped from ODM to Jubilee and later when he realised things will not work for him and he returned to ODM.

“Maangi should learn from the past and stop associating himself with DP Ruto if at all he wants peace in ODM and stay in the party. He will regret his decision to make an alliance with Ruto in 2022,” he said.

Former Kisii County Assembly Majority leader Protus Moindi who was re-elected on an ODM party ticket during the last year’s polls as the Bomariba ward MCA said any MP, Governor, MCA or Senator sponsored by ODM during the last year’s polls, should stick to party policies.

“I support Raila fully for warning DG Maangi. The alliance he is trying to build up with Ruto will haunt him in 2022. It is time Maangi should take in the warnings seriously failure to which his plan to succeed Governor James Ongwae will not work in 2022,” he said.

Vincent Moisabi, Riana ward MCA said Maangi's closeness with DP Ruto may lead to leadership wrangles in the county.

“Maangi should stick to his party and follow the rules for the purpose of delivering to the electorates. His alliance with DP Ruto will cost not only him but, also the Kisii County residents since leadership at the county will not be smooth,” he said.

This comes after on Saturday at Gusii stadium, Raila warned Maangi against joining forces with Ruto.
