Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i's kid brother John Matiang'i has now questioned President Uhuru Kenyatta's 'weak' policies in the education ministry.
Understandably, the elder Matiang'i served in the education docket where some of his radical reforms were highly appreciated by a section of Kenyans.
But on Tuesday, Mr. John Matiang'i, KNUT Treasurer, accused the ministry of education over what he termed as unnecessary regulations that cannot transform the sector.
"Some people like Belio Kipsang (PS) are making useless retulations. He cannot address the plight of teachers and I hear that he wants to have all boarding schools converted to day schools.
"In fact, this government is becoming clueless to an extent that they are transferring teachers with impunity without tangible reasons," said a charged Matiang'i.
During the event in Nyamira on Tuesday, KNUT Secretary General Wilson Sossion threatened to have teachers going on strike over rampant transfers.
"You can't victimise teachers by transferring them without tangible reasons. If some of these transfers are not controlled, we might call for another strike," he said.
The two leaders were visiting Nyanza region amid school infernos that has led to closure of at least 10 institutions.
