Machakos County Governor Alfred Mutua has clarified on his plan with Baringo County Senator Gideon Moi as far as 2022 succession politics is concerned.
Speaking during an interview with Milele FM on Thursday, the outspoken Governor said that he has decided to join hands with all like-minded and youthful leaders like him and Senator Moi to bring about generation change in the country's governance.
He also said that their relationship, for now, is a long-term friendship which has been there for many years adding that the Senator is a highly respected leader not only at his home but also in the entire country.
“Gideon ni Rafiki yangu sana tumejuana kwa miaka mingi sisi ni vijana, Gideon anaheshimika sana huko kwao na katika nchi yetu ya Kenya. Na mimi ni kiongozi ambaye nasema nataka kuungana na viongozi wote. (Gideon in my youthful friend and we have known each other for many years, he is respected both at his home and the nation. And for me, I am I a leader who wants to unite with all leaders),” said Mutua.
He added that since they have agreed to work together as leaders in the development of the nation, Kenyans should expect more that will be revealed in the near future.
“So mimi na Gideon, tulikuwa ata nayeye juzi pale Kwale two days ago tukaongea, sisi tunashirikiana kama viongozi katika hali ya ujenzi wa taifa na mengine yatajitokeleza pale mbeleni (Gideon and I were together in Kwale two days ago and we talked, we work together as leaders in development matters of the nation and the rest shall be revealed later),” concluded the Governor.
