David Burure was elected the chair.

Other directors include Chepkoris Maina, Peter Chemonges, Moses Nkoboi who was elected to replace James Isaboke who passed on, Nicholas Mogaka, RoseChepchumba and Selina Kemboi.

The elections were conducted by certified public secretary Moses ChegeKibathi.

Speaking after the elections, Chairman David Burure said they will not tolerate corruption in the office adding that in October they will conduct register membership verification exercise.

The squatters are victims of the Eastern Mau Settlement Schemes who were deprived of their rightful land allocated to them upon paying the statutory fees to the government and left landless to date.

They claim they have written to the National Land Commission over the same and even acquired alternative land in Rumuruti which the government has to pay but no communication from NLC has been made up to now despite the office being served with all the documents.

Chairman Burure says they will not relent until their predicaments are heard and acted upon.

“As the newly elected office, we will not relent until our predicaments areheard and acted upon” said Mr.Burure.

The over 10,000 squatters of Eastern Mau Settlement Scheme also condemned a section of individuals who are using unscrupulous means to grab their parcel ofland in Njoro Sub County.
