A primary school teacher is nursing injuries after he was attacked by angry members of the public for allegedly seducing a class 6 girl.
The incident happened on Friday in Nyankororo village, Keumbu in Kisii County.
Job Maangu, a witness said the teacher, Ronald Ongoro, was found with the minor at the road on Friday at 7:30 pm in a compromising situation prompting the attack.
“Ongoro was holding the minor’s hands who was in her school uniforms. When he saw me, he pretended he was doing nothing to her. I mobilised residents who arrived and questioned the minor and revealed that the teacher wanted her to go with him to his house to have sex there,” said Maangu.
He said angry residents descended on the teacher with kicks and blows before he was rescued by Nyumba Kumi officials.
Bernard Orero, a Nyumba Kumi official said the teacher could have been killed.
“We rescued the suspect from the jaws of death. Adultery is a sin and men should stop targeting minors to make love to them since the law doesn’t allow minor-adult relationships,” he said.
Orero said the suspect is currently being treated at Keumbu hospital following the head injuries he sustained.
He said the minor told residents who attacked the man that this was the first time the teacher was asking her to go to his house to have sex with him.
