The late Egesa Fm Radio presenter and comedian Okebiro O'mose's funeral will run smoothly after thousands of his fans turned up for a fund drive that was held in Kisii town on Wednesday.
The fans said they loved Okebiro's comedy and they will miss him.
"We loved Okebiro so much. He is the reason we were tuning in to listen to Egesa Fm Ekebago show every Monday to Friday between 10 am - 1 pm," said one of the fans, Innocent Nyagaka.
Dominic Okemwa said he would spend a night at Okebiro's home on Thursday when his body will be brought from Nairobi for a night vigil ahead of burial on Friday.
One of the fund drive organisers identified as Joseph Mayaka said they organised the fund drive to contribute funds which will help Okebiro's young family.
"As fans of Okebiro from Kisii County, we organised the fund drive to stand with the family of Okebiro. the funds will be handed over to the family on Friday during the burial day," he said.
Among the fans who showed up are Kisii traders, bodaboda operators, Gusii artists, pastors and many others and over Sh80,000 was raised.
