Life at the university is as treacherous as romantic love and city life. Just like in romance where betrayal is common, and heartbreaks the norm, life at the university can become a nightmare.
To make sure you do not fall into the vagaries of pains, here are a few rules to observe:
1. Never fall into the trap of STGs
In campus, there is what is called Sexually Transmitted Grades.
Girls become a target in this new phenomenon where rogue tutors waylay campus girls with promises of giving them good marks.
When you join campus, avoid these rogue male lecturers like the plague. Instead, work hard to earn your grades.
2. Sponsors
Egerton University acting VC Alexander Kahi made a passionate appeal in 2018 during first years’ orientation advising them to avoid sponsors and sugar mummies.
The VC said many university girls in the country have died at the hands of old men they developed casual relationships with for monetary gain.
As such, every freshman is urged to lead a morally upright life.
3. Drugs
Many Kenyan universities are minefields for drugs. Due to the ‘lawlessness’ environment that a campus is, drugs usually get peddled by notorious outlaws.
Avoid doing drugs if you want to graduate.
