First Lady Her Excellency Margaret Kenyatta has landed in Kisumu County ahead of the official launch of the Beyond Zero Campaign Safari in the county.
Mama Margaret was accompanied by her visiting Mozambican counterpart Her Excellency Isaura Nyusi for the event set to be held at the Kenyatta sports ground.

The two were welcomed by county Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o and county First Lady Dorothy Nyong’o.

The safari seeking to offer free and better healthcare to county residents will offer a number of treatments, among them fistula repair and sickle cell screening.
Screening of heart diseases for children, screening for several types of cancer like cervical cancer, prostate cancer and breast cancer will as well be done in the exercise set to end on Friday, 23rd.
The elderly will also receive free eye care treatment, orthopedic checking for the children and immunization services will also be availed.
In an earlier communication by the Governor, the safari will also see residents tested for HIV and given the required counselling, with pregnant mothers also set to be checked.
The Linda Mama registration for pregnant women will also be done alongside registration for the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF).
