Former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama has time and again claimed that governor Alfred Mutua is an outsider in Machakos county.

In his speeches, Muthama has observed that Mutua doesn't reside in Machakos, a move he points out that indicates the governor has interests of Machakos people at heart.

"Mutua is not from Machakos, he's an outsider and Machakos people will regret voting for him as their governor," Muthama once said.

One time in 2016, the vocal politician surprised mourners after offering Sh10,000 to anyone who would show him Mutua's house in Machakos.

"Anyone who would take and show me where Mutua resides in Machakos county I will give him or her Sh10,000 cash. Someone who doesn't live in Machakos how do you expect him to work diligently for the people of Machakos," he noted.

Muthama further claimed that no single leader from Machakos county can attest that they have ever set foot in Mutua's home for a cup of tea or anything.

Last Sunday, the former Senator said that he has constantly warned Machakos residents against voting for Mutua but his words have been falling on deaf ears.

"He will never benefit Machakos, take it or leave it in fact after wrecking the county he will board a plane and disappear," he said in reference to complaints from some of the Machakos MCAs over governor Mutua's poor leadership.

Muthama had attended a fundraising at Kangundo Catholic church.
