It now emerges that former Jubilee Party Vice Chair has picked Siaya Senator James Orengo as his representative in his bid to block Deputy President William Ruto from the presidency.
On Thursday, Murathe also named senior council John Khaminwa as the other lawyer in the team.
He added that he has dispatched the two to the constitutional court to seek legal advise on Ruto's eligibility for the 2022 general polls.
In the instance that the court sides with the DP and throws out Murathe's idea that Ruto is ineligible to participate in the elections, then he had vowed to move to the Supreme Court.
Should it get to the apex court, then Orengo will have to give his all to ensure that his side wins and manages to block the DP.
This could also be boosted by the fact that he has been winning most of his cases and has most likely mastered the art of winning Supreme Court battles.
Some of his major wins include his participation Opposition leader Raila Odinga's successful petition against President Uhuru Kenyatta's 2017 reelection.
And most recently, last month tonbe precise, he qas part of the two man team that forced the validation of Homa Bay Governor Cyprian Awiti's reelection at the Supreme Court.
Also, Orengo is well aware that a loss in such a big case would dent the reputation he has made as a super lawyer over the last few years and wouldn't have accepted to take up the case if he was unsure of himself.
Therefore, he has no other option but to win the case.
