Residents of Nyaramba in Nyamira County were left in a rude shock after a middle aged woman abandoned her husband and went to bury her ex-lover.
Villagers said Dorine Nyaringo separated with the deceased, Michael Kagaka 3 years ago and got married to Jared Ombati ,who she has sired one child with.
"Dorine separate with Kagaka after she failed to conceive pregnancy accusing Kagaka of being unable to make her pregnant. She moved in with Ombati until Monday when she abandoned him, a father to her 6-months-old son to bury Kagaka," said Stephen Machoni.
Mr Machoni claimed that Dorine was persuaded by the deceased family to abandon her husband.
"We have never witness a such incident in the village before. She was lured to bury Kagaka so that she can inherit land and left Ombati who has been taking care of her for the last 3 years," he said.
Elders condemned the woman saying she won't be allowed back to the village.
"Let her go and stay with her ex-husband's grave. No one is going to allow her back here," said an angered elder Lawrence Ombongi.
