In his passionate letter to Chief Justice David Maraga chaired JSC, Irungu takes offense in 'woman-eater' remarks made by the judge when he denied him bail in October.

According to Irungu, the remarks portrayed him as a cannibal, promiscuous and adulterous man, who has little respect to female gender.

Further, he argued, he has never are any woman or human being, contrary to the judge's observation thus asking the JSC to consider compelling the judge to withdraw from presiding over the case.

“By describing me as a woman-eater, the judge abused his position and compounded the female gender to be nothing less than items to be eaten which is quite foul, degrading coming from a sitting judge,” reads the letter.

Jowie explains that “Indeed the judge used the most uncouth, derogatory and injudicious language against me as being a male version of a slay queen.”

According to jowie, the judge literally means that jowie is a cannibal, promiscuous, adulterous and or living off unknown women.

“In the words of the Judge, I am a hopeless person who depends on women for sex and kill them if I must. In his mind, the judge is already convinced, believes and has pre-empted my guilt, awaiting conviction and sentence.” Jowie adds.https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/ureport/story/2001302906/jowie-writes-to-maraga-over-woman-eater-tag.

For a judge to quit handling a case, the complaint through his lawyer should write formally to the court stating reasons behind such requests. In some instances, a judge can voluntarily withdraw.

Justice Wakiaga's'woman-eater'remarks caused jitters among top lawyers with Senior Counsel Ahmednassir Abdullahi castigating him for making a 'funny ruling'.

While Jowie will have to stay behind bars for the next seven months, his fiance Jacque Maribe was however released on Sh1 million cash bail awaiting trial in 2019 June.
