A Christmas party where guests were served booze turned sour after one of the guests died.

Onyango Yongo, 55, is said to have taken one too many during the celebrations at a home in Rarieda.

The deceased is said to have been consuming a traditional brew at a relative’s home where a party had been held on Christmas day.

The man is however said to have indulged in excessive drinking which saw him lose consciousness.

“They were rushed to the nearby Rambugu health center where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The other two were however treated and discharged,” a source told Citizentv.co.ke

Two other revelers who was with the deceased were however lucky to survive.

A nurse at the Rambugu health centre, where the man was rushed before being pronounced dead, told Ctizentv.co.ke that the death was caused by alcohol intoxication.

Elsewhere in Elburgon, Molo OCPD Daniel Kamaanza warned bar against selling illegal drinks during this period.

Kamaanza said a local bar where one person died after a drinking spree will remain closed as they await a report from the government chemist on the suitability of drinks sold in the bar.
