John Kamande was charged for allegedly stabbing Stephen Guya Juma on January 19, after the victim reportedly took his contribution to buy liquor, only to buy something different.

The two had earlier contributed some money to buy the alcohol, but Guya who was tasked with the role of buying the drink delivered vodka drinks which the suspect termed cheap.

The same then resulted in an argument, after which the suspect allegedly used a broken piece of glass to stab Guya in the chest.

According to the prosecution, Guya was rushed to the Kenyatta National Hospital where an emergency operation to extract a piece of glass stuck in his chest was conducted.

He was then admitted at the hospital's Intensive Care Unit for two months, while the suspect was arrested and charged with causing grievous harm.

The accused was released on an Shh200, 000 personal bond after denying the charges, with the case set to be heard again on July 18, according to the Standard.
