Lawyer Miguna Miguna has called for the immediate prosecution of Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday evening, Miguna alleged that Atwoli has stolen money meant for workers, and should therefore be prosecuted for crimes against the latter.
"Francis Atwoli should be charged and prosecuted to the full extent of the law for theft (earning and stealing billions of workers' dues), dereliction of duty and abuse of public (union) office for his egregious failure to advocate on behalf of Kenyan workers," Miguna posted.
Miguna's remark comes a few hours after Atwoli led other leaders in the country, in celebrating the day of the workers commonly known as Labour day at Uhuru Park, Nairobi.
This year's labour day celebrations witnessed poor turnout from Kenyan workers, as the country continues struggling with the fight against corruption, which has crippled the economic state of the nation.
