A Gusii politician who was recently released from a Tanzanian prison has revealed that Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga is his political mentor.
According to Don Bosco Ooga Gichana, Raila is the reason he ventured into the country's politics.
"Raila, my political mentor personally contributed for the fine money which I paid to secure my freedom and he simply asked how much was the balance," wrote Gichana at his Facebook page.
The flamboyant businessman lauded the former Langata constituency MP for negotiating with Tanzanian President John Pombe Magufuli to have him released from prison.
"His RT Hon Raila Amollo. He relentlessly fought for my release. Several times he spoke to Tanzanian President John Pombe Magufuli until he came up with the idea that set me up free," he added Gichana.
Mr Gichana had spent five years behind bars before he was released.
Mr Gichana has been meeting high profile leaders since he was released from prison in what is suspected that he is preparing for the 2022 polls.
Gichana who is yet to declare publicly is expected to vie for a top seat in Kisii County come 2022.
