Nominated MP Maina Kamanda has been bashed over his stand against DP William Ruto, and his association with a section of Jubilee Party supporters opposed to Ruto.
Speaking in Murang'a county on Wednesday, Maragua MP Mary Waiguire, a Ruto supporter, bashed the former Starehe MP claiming that it is time he leaves the political scene for younger politicians.
He advised the elderly lawmaker to consider retiring and head home to be with his family, terming his followers as a group of confused fellows with no development record.
"Mr Kamanda should retire from politics and let new blood reign while he takes times with his great-grandchildren," she was quoted by the Nation.
Area Governor Mwangi Wa Iria blamed the church for allowing the group to air its attacks on the DP on the pulpit since quite a good number of MPs have been using churches as their platform.
"It is too much now, church leaders should not allow this,” Wa Iria said.
The leaders spoke in the presence of Ruto in a function that was also attended by MPs Jonah Mburu (Lari), Sabina Chege (Woman Representative), her Bomet counterpart Joyce Korir and Rigathi Gachagua (Mathira).
On his side, the DP said that the group has been deployed with the main role of stopping him and his future political plans.
Some of these members are Joshua Kuttuny (Cherangany), Ngunjiri Wambugu (Nyeri Town), David Murathe (former MP Gatanga), Peter Kenneth and nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura.
