Recently, Joho revealed that he was only supporting the handshake between Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga and that DP Ruto was not part of the deal.

Joho also added that Ruto is unfit to lead the nation. His remarks did go down well with Ruto’s allies as it also sparked mixed reactions from Kenyans.

DP Ruto’s confidants led by Nandi Governor Stephen Sang, Kapseret Mp Oscar Sudi and Kimani Ichungwa responded by linking Joho to the illegal drug trafficking business.

Joho on his part has moved to court and challenged them to provide their evidence in a slander suit. However, Ruto DP has remained silent on this debate.

In my opinion,The rivalry between the governor and the self proclaimed hustler is  only about 2022 presidential race. Ruto is so much determined to succeed Uhuru Kenyatta and is definitely the frontrunner.

This means that he may easily clinch the seat if the current opinion polls are anything to go by.

On his part, Joho is bitter that Ruto opposed Raila Odinga’s quests for the presidency in 2013 and 2017.

Raila lost in both elections with Ruto being on the winning side.

Joho has on several occasions declared his interest in the country’s top seat and this means that either Raila Odinga or Hassan Joho will vie for the presidency on an ODM ticket and their only threat is Ruto.
