At Nairobi on September 5th, Mr. Obado is said to have met Police boss Joseph Boinet at Vigilant house, a claim he however refutes.

"He was not at that place. It's just a creation of media. There was no business between him and the IG," said his lawyer, Cliff Ombeta.

It is however not clear why Mr. Obado hastily went to see the Inspector General.

And a source from ODM party hinted that the embattled Migori Governor also met Ida Odinga, Raila Odinga's wife at Karen to 'ask him to intervene'.

But in a statement written by him at DCI, Obado admitted meeting Ms. Odinga but denies that it happened at the day Sharon was murdered.

"After a meeting Evans Ondieki, I drove to Karen to meet Ida Odinga. I was not at the scene of murder as claimed," said Mr. Obado, adding that he was in Nairobi when the alleged murder took place.

It is alleged that Mr. Obado, who has been at loggerheads with Raila, wanted the ODM leader to intervene over the murder that he had been implicated.

The county boss continues to languish in Industrial Prison awaiting his bail application on October 8th.

Also in remand are his aides Michael Oyamo and Caspal Obiero, bodyguard Elvis Omondi and Jackson Gombe, the driver of the taxi believed to have kidnapped Ms. Otieno.

They are all facing murder charges whose sentence of life imprisonment or death.
