An MCA aspirant from Gusii region has explained why Don Bosco Gichana, who on Friday was accorded a Kingship grand welcome at Gusii stadium is a political threat.
Thomas Nyangaresi, who unsuccessfully vied for the Bomariba ward MCA seat on an ANC party ticket, said the decision by Gusii leaders to snub Don’s event was an indication that he is a threat.
“Gichana is a political threat to people like Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi and MP Richard Onyonka. Elected leaders from Nyamira and Kisii County snubbed the event because they fear Mr. Gichana’s political influence,” he said.
He said the leaders were misadvised to miss the historic grand return because it has now proven that they were not happy with Gichana’s release from Tanzania prison.
“Let Don Bosco know that the leaders especially those in office were not fighting for his release thus snubbed the welcoming ceremony.
"It is high time Mr. Gichana should associate himself with people who should not derail his leadership ambitions,” said Nyangaresi.
The vocal politician reiterated that due to the massive following Mr. Gichana has, he has high chances to clinch the gubernatorial seat in Kisii County.
“Gichana should go for Kisii County top seat. Without doubt he will win since people like Maangi and Onyonka who have declared interest in the seat are not worthy,” he added.
