A woman is yet to come into terms over mysterious death of her 10-year-old son.
Mrs. Zipporah Bosibori of Kegogi said her son, Michael Okong’o died under unclear circumstances on Monday.
“My son has been well since birth. He was jovial on Monday morning after he ate breakfast and took our cow to the grazing field alone.
"When he returned from the grazing field he slept and when I called him to eat lunch he never responded,” she said.
Bosibori noted that she called neighbors who tried to wake up her son but, in vain.
“He refused to wake up yet his heart was beating. He was rushed to Nyamira County hospital where he was pronounced death on arrival,” she stated.
According to her, the son was bewitched by a neighbour who had allegedly cursed her to be childless last year.
Area administrator, Jeremiah Ondari said the villagers are yet to come to terms following the untimely death.
"It is shocking that Michael died under unclear circumstances. Residents should live in peace and stop engaging in witchcraft to kill other people children,” he said.
He said the deceased body was moved to Nyamira County Hospital mortuary.
