According to Duale, Raila’s narrative on crocodiles barring them from reaching what they termed as the "promised land" is nonsensical.

Orengo was, however, not impressed with the Garissa Township MP's remarks.

He asked Duale not to be quick to attack the opposition leaders following the long 2017 electioneering period.

“Duale must be told that in politics you cannot afford to be oversensitive. If you become oversensitive, then you are in the wrong place," Orengo said.

He added, “In politics we must tell our stories, if you have no story to tell then keep quiet. If anybody thinks he is the crocodile we are talking about, shauri yake [it is up to him].”

Several leaders from both the opposition and government attended the event.

President Uhuru Kenyatta, his Deputy William Ruto, and ODM leader Raila Odinga were all in attendance.

The leaders eulogized the deceased as a man of substance.

Kalonzo thanked President Kenyatta for supporting the family during the trying times.

He promised to stand with Uhuru all the time.
