His misfortunes started when Kisumu West constituency locals deliberately chose to vote in Olago Aluoch as their Member of Parliament, Kisumu East tasked Shakeel Shabbir and Onyango K’Oyoo in Muhoroni. The legislators did not vie on ODM ticket despite the area being green for the Orange party.

The worst incident happened in Siaya Sub County in a recent mini-poll where Ugenya people decided to elect David Ochieng as their MP leaving ODM’s choice Christopher Karan whose election was nullified by the Siaya High court over discrepancies resulting to a by-election. The same happened in Embakasi South where Ishrad Sumra (ODM) was beaten hands down by his opponent Julius Mawathe of Wiper Party.

On Monday in Ombei Ward, Muhoroni  Sub-county, the former Prime Minister was heavily opposed by a section of people who felt that they were being swindled their forefathers’ property (land).

Odinga was heckled by the disadvantaged members of the community who further expressed their anger through waving placards.

Now, in Luo Nyanza, they always say, ‘Gima Baba Osewacho Ok pingi’ (whatever Baba (Raila) has said can never be opposed). The phrase is slowly losing its touch similar to Odinga’s popularity in Luo Nyanza.
