Kisumu Governor Professor Peter Anyang Nyong’o's leadership on Wednesday received a major boost after being endorsed by vocal legislator.
Speaking on Wednesday evening, Kisumu West Member of Parliament (MP) John Olago Aluoch declared his full support to the Governor.
Aluoch said that despite being elected on a Ford Kenya ticket in the last general elections, he strongly believes in the manifesto of the ODM party and that of Professor Nyong’o.
“I believe in the ideals and manifesto of the ODM party and also in the administration of Prof. Anyang' Nyong'o,” said the MP.
The MP was speaking when he hosted Governor Nyong'o and other Kisumu County leaders at the Bar Korumba Secondary School, Kisumu West Sub County.
On his part, Governor Nyong'o lauded the MP for his declaration, and urged Kisumu County residents to register for the Universal Health Coverage program that was recently launched in the Lakeside County.
Aluoch and Kisumu East MP Shakir Shabbir are the only two legislators in the county's seven constituencies who were elected outside the ODM party.
A host of other Kisumu County leaders attended the meeting among them Seme MP Dr James Nyikal.
