Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has revealed details of an incident in which opposition chief Raila Odinga helped him get university readmission following his expulsion.
Kuria who was speaking in Nyakach in Kisumu when he toured the county on Sunday said were it not for Raila, he may have failed to complete his university education.
He said his expulsion was effected after he led a protest against an alleged rigging of the University of Nairobi students elections and it happened during former Present Daniel Arap Moi's time.
"We did not agree with the student's election results and we protested. I was expelled and Raila, after learning of my expulsion ordered lawyer Otieno Kajwang' (RIP) to file a case and represent me in court before High Court Judge Gideon Mwera. I won the case and got readmitted," Kuria said.
He said he has known the family of Raila's father, the late Jaramogi Ogiga Odinga for a long time and the outbursts he has been directing at Raila are only political.
He said he is in full support of the recent handshake between Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta saying it was the best thing to do especially coming at a time Kenya was polarized on tribal lines.
Kuria attended the University of Nairobi where he completed his Bachelor of Commerce studies in 1993.
