Already President Uhuru Kenyatta, former PM Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto joined Kenyans in mourning the former West Mugirango MP.

And a day after the passing of Obwocha, whose home is few kilometres from Maraga's Nyamira home, the CJ has termed the death as 'shocking and troubling'.

"I received news about Obwocha's death in deep shock. I am still troubled and I join the family in mourning.

"He was my childhood friend and this is just a personal loss to me. I am still in shock," he said on Sunday.

Even more shocking, Obwocha died just 8 hours after attending and giving speech in the burial of his aunt at Igena-itambe.

During Mwai Kibaki's regime, Obwocha served as Economic Planning minister besides also holding brief Energy ministry.

Until his death, he was chairman Privatisation Commission, a post he took over in 2015.
