Since Tuesday, detectives have pitched tent at Ruaka, where it's believed she was living with her husband, Ali Salim Gichunge, who is said to have died during the attack.

With strong bonds to Gusii, Kemunto was born to the family of six; four girls and two boys. Her two brothers live in the US. Her father is said to have died 14 years ago with the mother, a Kisii, getting remarried and settling in Ruai.

In June 2016, the Saturday Nation adds, Kemunto visited her relatives in Kisii where she took photos and posted them on social media with an account, Violet Omwoyo.

And in October the same year, she changed Facebook account to Didgesupuu Omwoyo. Afterwards, the account read Didgesupuu Faruq, in reference to her husband Ali Salim Gichunge alias Farouk. She cut links with her family.

“We don’t know where she went to. She disappeared and spoke to no one,” one of her sisters said.

And in 2018, neighbours at Ruaka say, she announced her wedding with Ali Gichunge and the two have been living together for over one year now without the knowledge of the family.

On Monday, a day to the attack, Kemunto posted on Facebook a kind of advert where she expressed intentions to sell households. A neighbor says they were about to move to Ruai.

"There is a new house they were moving to. We were to have a house warming party at Ruai before all these resurfaced," said the neighbour.

As of now, Kemunto's whereabouts remain a mystery with detectives claiming that she may have escaped to Somalia during the attack.
