Community leaders mainly from Nakuru and Naivasha visited the former Prime Minister at Opoda Farm under the stewardship of former Molo MP Njenga Mungai and Musa Sirma of Eldama Ravine.

Raila said:"Mama Ida and I are pleased to have hosted a delegation of elders and leaders from Nakuru County at our home in Bondo. We had a discussion on a range of issues including National Unity and Reconciliation and the ongoing war on corruption."

Although Mr Odinga did not divulge into finer details, he has however been supporting peace initiatives with President Uhuru Kenyatta. The two have also been vocal about the war against corruption in recent months.

But Deputy President William Ruto has often poked holes into the war against graft, insisting that it's selective and is well choreographed to sabotage his 2022 presidential bid.

Also, while Uhuru and Raila have defended their handshake, saying that it's focused at bringing peace and stability, Ruto has often dismissed it as a campaign tool for 2022 polls.

The delegation was first received at Kang'o ka Jaramogi before visiting Raila's Opoda Farm. Mr Mungai hinted a possible support for Raila in 2022 polls, revisiting the former Prime Minister's political support to leaders from Mt Kenya.

"In 2002, you stood with us and backed President Mwai Kibaki. In 2007, you accepted dialogue when the country plunged into chaos. Your patriotism has yet again been proved after you backed Uhuru Kenyatta. We will stand with you," he said.

Dr Ruto enjoys formidable support from Nakuru leaders with area Senator Susan Kihika and Bahati MP Ngunjiri Wambugu often defending his presidential ambitions. However, Governor Lee Kinyanjui has been critical of Ruto.
