A middle-aged woman is nursing serious injuries at the Nakuru Provincial General Hospital after she was reportedly assaulted by her cop husband.

June Koech from Mochongoi said her husband came home from Elgeyo Marakwet where he works and found she was still at a local market.

She works at hotel in the centre and arrived home at 8 pm which angered her husband leading to a thorough beating.

“He really beat me and injured me badly. I tried to hide under the bed but he pulled me out plucking some of my hair. I am in bad pain,” Koech said.

The mother of six said her cries for rescue from neighbours were fruitless.

“They feared him because he is a police officer. Were it not officers from Kabel (AP camp), he would have killed me,” she said amid sobs.
