On Wednesday, Kenyans woke up to the sad news of the dead of Nicholas Bett, the former 400 metres hurdles World Champion who died on spot in an accident that saw his car hit a bump, rolled several times before landing into a ditch.
Various people have visited the spot where the young hero died.
KTN News reporters were at the spot and spoke to various people who witnessed the accident.

Noah Kemei: “Nlishuhudia hii mambo asubuhi na mapema. Ilikua ni saa kumi na mbili na nusu hivi. Tuliskia ngurumo ya gari. Kumbe ilikua imegonga bumps na nikakuja mbio mbio na nikapata wamama wawili ambao nao walikua wamesikia. Wakati huo tuliona moshi kubwa sana, gari ilikua imeanguka na tayari huyo jamaa alikua amekufa. Inaonekana alianguka kutokea kwa windscreen.”
Constantine Ng’aroni: “Njia hii iko na shida ya bumps. Ilikua leo saa kumi na mbili na nusu gari ya mkimbiaji Nicholas Bett ilipopita kwa hii njia yetu. Na kwa sababu ya maneno ya bumps, gari yake iliingia kwa mtaro na ajali ikaanza kutokezea hapo.
Accident huwa inatokezea kila masaa kwa hii njia. Kila wikendi huwa tunaona. Juzi gari ya watoto wa shule iliingia ndani ya mitaro."
