Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has been asked to come out clean on his statement during his father's burial about being President Uhuru Kenyatta's "mtu wa mkono."
Former Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama said the Ukambani political kingpin should tell his followers what he meant with the statement.
He said Kalonzo's statement has thrown his followers into confusion.
"Kalonzo kuwa wazi uelezee watu wako ulimaanisha nini kuwa utakuwa mtu wa mkono was Uhuru kwa sababu watu wako wamechanganyikiwa.. loosely translated as [Kalonzo be open and tell your people what you meant by stating that you will be Uhuru's handsman because your followers are confused]," Muthama said.
Muthama said though the 2022 presidential race has already began, Kalonzo is lagging behind due to his uncertainty.
"The race to State House has began and the participants are already halfway but Kalonzo is running backwards instead of going forward," he added.
Muthama spoke at Lita Catholic Church in Kathiani, Machakos County on Sunday.
On Friday last week in Tseikuru, Kitui County, Kalonzo shocked Kenyans after saying that he will be President Uhuru's handsman and no one should question him at all.
"Kutoka leo nitakuwa mtu wa mkono wa Uhuru na nisiulizwe swali na mtu, atakayeniuliza atajua mimi ni kichwa ngumu kama babangu,.[From today I will be Uhuru's handsman and I should not be questioned by anybody, anyone who asks me questions will know that I am tough headed like my late father]," Kalonzo said.
