Former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti claims that the Machakos county government has neglected vulnerable groups on health matters.
She said Governor Alfred Mutua's administration should ensure that all vulnerable residents access modest health services.
Ndeti said children, women and the elderly should be well taken care of as far as health matters are concerned.
"Community engagement is essential in ensuring that all kids and the elderly benefit from the health coverage they need," Ndeti said.
She spoke during a traditional wedding at Kyaka village in Kangundo Central ward, Machakos County on Wednesday.
Ndeti said local leaders need to raise awareness of the need for strong and resilient health systems in the county.
She said residents have been neglected for long in matters concerning health care.
"We need to raise awareness of the need for strong and resilient health systems with multi-stakeholders partners that will cater for all especially the vulnerable groups," she added.
Ndeti later shared her Christmas gifts with the residents.
She donated an assortment of food items to the less privileged in the society.
