South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro on Monday had a rough time on Social media following a mixup about his academic background which was triggered by Hot 96 FM.
Before appearing on the station for an interview, the station had briefly stated about his academic credentials, citing that he was a Law Degree holder from Strathmore University.
In a tweet, the Radio station also revealed that he is currently doing Diplomatic and Consular law at the University of Pretoria in South Africa.
"He also holds Law Degree from Strathmore University where he graduated in 2013. He is now pursuing Diplomatic and Consular law at the University of Pretoria," the hosts wrote.
But in a quick rejoinder, Strathmore University responded 'oh really?', an indication that the credentials could not match with their system, a move that elicited sharp online debate.
Mr Osoro, who is serving as a first term MP on KNC, is a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto. He had a tough beginning and at times, was a street child before he was rescued.
But in a response, Osoro admitted that Royal Media's Hot96 made a mistake in the tweet, adding that he did his law at Mt Kenya University and CPA at Strathmore.
"I never said that Ndugu. Infact, I did my law degree at Mount Kenya University and my CPA at Strathmore. I think it was just a mistake," he said.
