Over 700 youths from Kesses Constituency will on Friday are set to benefit befit from free scholarship to join Eldoret National Polytechnic.
The students will pursue technical courses courtesy of the area Member Of Parliament Dr Swarup Mishra.
Speaking to the press at Sports Club on Tuesday Mishra said the youths will be awarded their admission letters at an event to be held at the Eldoret Sports Club on Friday.
“My aim is to ensure that students are empowered with technical skills and knowledge that will help them employ themselves thus earn a living,” said the Kesses legislator.
He said the event will be graced by among others the High Commissioner of India Rahul Chhabra, Senate speaker Ken Lusaka, Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchuma Murkomen, Energy Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago among others.
The Guest of Honor will be Senate Speaker Hon. Kenneth Lusaka. During the event Dr Mishra will also unveil his Constituency Strategic Plan, issue driving licenses to 230 youths and also give 100 dairy cows to needy women.
“I want to welcome Uasin Gishu residents at this event since it will be none political but development-oriented. I want to ensure the lives of the electorates are transformed,” said Dr Swarup Mishra.
