In most cases, celebrities have tirelessly worked for their fame and fortune.
No one knows the life-changing power of luck. Most of our brightest stars rose to their heights through dedication, hard work and perseverance.
But if somebody hadn’t recognized their potential greatness beyond the moment, they might still be languishing in poverty.
Here is a list of Kenyan stars who have risen to fame and fortune by what is considered to be luck.
1. Amani Gracious
The young girl from Githurai, Nairobi, caught the attention of American Singer Alicia Keys. The 13 year-old became the talk of town after a clip of her singing Alicia’s popular hit ‘Girl on Fire’ went viral on social media platforms.
Her life has since changed. She signed a two-year deal with a recording label (pinecreekmusic) which includes a minimum of Ksh 2.5 Million.The label will also take care of her school fees, clothing and other necessities.
2. Jane Anyango
Adika 'serikali saidia' came to public lime light after her eye witness interview with a national television caused a stir on social media. She became a public figure after her 'cry' on government to intervene after River Nyando burst its banks.
She was later appointed as the Flood Preparedness Ambassador under the department of Special Programmes by former Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma. She also featured in a safaricom Storo Ibambe advert on Tv.
3.James Kang'ethe alias Bonoko
The former street boy rose to fame after he was caught on a viral video explaining to journalists how a 'mutura' vendor in Ngara was killed and framed by the cops.
Bonoko Deh was later called for an interview at Ghetto Radio and later made a presenter. Kang'ethe has enjoyed a successful media career at Ghetto radio despite not going through any college for training.The star lived in the streets for more than eight years after their father chased him and his six siblings from home.
