Today, our smartphones have become babies who need to be kept warm inside our blankets, sounds nice. However, there are social and health reasons why we shouldn't go to bed with our cell phones.
It doesn't seem wrong having your phone in bed but for some reasons, you shouldn't.
1. Ruins your purpose of going to bed
We go to bed at night to sleep, but when we carry our phones to bed, we tend to take much time looking at them instead of doing the main business.
Scientifically, smartphones emit rays known as blue light. This inhibits the release of sleep-inducing hormone melatonin thereby keeping us awake for long when we should actually be sleeping.
2. Can ruin your relationship
Apart from nomophobia, using our smartphones in bed could destroy our relationships. Bedtime is time for a couple to catch up on what they might have missed throughout the day.
One can be too frustrated if the other is busy on the phone instead of giving time to them.
3. Heath risks
Healthwise, sleeping with our phones next to us in bed in dangerous. Why? Because scientists have discovered that they produce radiation rays similar to those of x-rays and microwaves which are unhealthy to the human body.
Light from screens of a cell phone could also have effects on one's eyes. The blue light from these screens can cause the eye to dry up and also blurred vision.
