Duale's son Arafat Noor Abdullahi has been dealt a major political blow after rivals gang up to bring him down in his campus politics.
This follows an alliance by student leaders from major universities who have teamed up to front their favourite, thus dimming the chances of Duale's son ascending to the coveted campus post.
According to an informer Jackie Musembi from Garissa University college who spoke to this writer, Arafat is little known in the campus given the fact that he is yet to sell his policies to the Northern students.
Jackie, who is a second-year Bachelor of Education Arts student, said she does not even know who Arafat is despite the rumors across the institution that a son to a powerful politician could be contesting.
Additionally, the Garissa University chairperson of the student's council Mr Laban Kumba Daniel and his vice chair Mr Waliaula Collins (Wetangula) are said to be in support of Kenyatta University's Wycliffe Kipsang who is the incumbent Kenyatta University Students Association (KUSA) president.
"I have heard of reports that a son to Aden Duale will be contesting for KUSO presidency. I am yet to know and even see him," said the Arts student.
Just weeks ago, Arafat broke the news via his social media page that he would be contesting for the highest student representation job in the country.
The news shocked netizens who were keen to comment that Duale was grooming one of his sons for future national politics.
