Chief Justice David Maraga has joined other leaders in lauding security forces following Tuesday's deadly attack by suspected Al Shabaab militants on Nairobi's Dusit Hotel which left 14 people dead.
Security forces led by elite Recce Squad managed to contain the situation on Wednesday morning after killing all terrorists involved in the horrendous attack that met the country by surprise.
And Maraga, whose courts have been under pressure over alleged favorism in judgement related to terrorism, said he was impressed with swift response from the security forces.
"I join Kenyans in condemning attack at the Riverside Business Park yesterday. My heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their loved ones, and quick recovery to the injured.
"I thank our security forces and all others who helped contain the situation. God bless Kenya," Maraga wrote on his Twitter account, hours after the end of the operation.
But back at his Nyamira backyard, a section of leaders asked him to work with parliament to review penalities and prove required in terrorism cases.
The 14 Riverside Drive attack came just a day after a court in Nairobi released a number of suspects linked Westgate Mall attack that left over 67 people dead.
"The Chief Justice should work with parliament closely to review penalities and level of prove related to terrorism cases. He should also come out clear on corruption in the judiciary which is the genesis of all these troubles," seasoned politician Victor Swanya said.
