The vocal lawmaker says his name will be on the presidential ballot in 2022 and has vowed to beat his competitors.

Kuria says he has what it takes to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta who is serving his last term in office.

As Kuria markets his 2022 presidential ambition, the question to be asked is whether he has the numbers to propel him to 'State House'.

The Gatundu South MP needs numbers to compete with other political heavyweights who are not taking any chances in the 2022 presidential race.

As it stands, the vocal Gatundu South legislator does not have the ‘tyranny’ of numbers that could guarantee him power.

While Kuria might be famous in his constituency and other parts of Mt Kenya region, he is not popular in majority parts of the country.

For the Gatundu lawmaker to successfully bid for the top seat he must appeal to all regions.

Kuria also needs political experience and networks to market his 2022 presidential bid. He should consider partnering with other politicians if he really wants to successfully succeed President Kenyatta.

Unless Kuria partners with like-minded politicians to boost his chances, his 2022 presidential dream might not come true.

The Democratic Party of Kenya (DP) has already denounced Kuria’s 2022 presidential bid.

The party says it has not endorsed the Gatundu South lawmaker as its 2022 presidential flag bearer.

On Wednesday, the party's  Secretary General, Wambugu Nyamu criticized Kuria for allegedly using the party’s logo-head and colours to market his 2022 bid.

The party further said Kuria is not a life member and is not eligible to vie for the presidency on its ticket.
