Former Nairobi governor Evans Kidero has hit out at the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) accusing it of dragging his family into graft allegations against him.

Kidero alleges that EACC detectives are taking advantage of a Magistrates search order to take away some of his wife's work documents.

The embattled former ODM governor says that the court order does not allow the EACC to search properties or material owned by his wife or children.

In court papers filed in court on Tuesday, Kidero claims that EACC has taken away documents from his wife Susan and his son.

Through his lawyer James Orengo, Kidero told court that his family is being harassed and intimidated.

“They (EACC) are on a fishing mission to find evidence they don’t have,” Kidero told court.

The EACC has however denied Kidero’s claims, stating that is is only working on the search order as specified by the magistrate court.
