Sharon Otieno, a Medical Records second-year student at Rongo University was found dead at Kodero forest in Homa Bay hours after being kidnapped on Wednesday, September 5th, 2018.

Her mother, Melida Auma Otieno has now come out stating that her daughter was in a “relationship” with Migori Governor Okoth Obado. According to her mother, the governor’s relationship with her daughter turned sour after her tender promises from the governor were unfulfilled. 

“He lied to my daughter that he would award her business tenders in the county. My daughter even registered a company believing Obado would give her the business deal,” said the late’s mother.

Sharon was a business lady who ventured in attire. She died while 7 months pregnant. Melida Auma Otieno reports that the governor was aware of her frequent visits to the clinic. 

“Okoth Obado knew how the girl was going for medical checkup [sic].” 

“There is evidence in her phone log and texts. The girl’s phone is with the Migori County Commander [Joseph Nthenge],” stated Melida Auma Otieno. 

According to Melida Auma Otieno, her daughter has been living in fear for the last two weeks. She however never disclosed her cause of fear to her mother.
