There have been suggestions that former Prime minister Raila Odinga is losing grounds especially on his stronghold in Nyanza.
Former Kakamega Senator Dr Boni Khalwale has listed the recent heckling of the ODM party leader by locals in Muhoroni, Kisumu County coupled by the party losing Ugenya by-election as a clear indicator that the 'new Kenya' is turning against Odinga.
"Yesterday, Raila Odinga and Hon Otiende Amollo (of the @AMLiveNTV) came face to face with Kenyans of the New Kenya, right at his backyard in Muhoroni in Kisumu County. RAO, the shoe is now on the other foot! If u thought Ugenya by-election was not for real, well..," reads a tweet by Khalwale.
The ODM Party leader was heckled when he went to launch Kisumu Special economic zones to which residents were against, especially due to alleged land grabbing, Daily Nation reported.
For Ugenya parliamentary by-election, Movement for Democracy and Growth party candidate David Ochieng won defeating ODM's Chris Karan who came second.
Khalwale has been constantly attacking the former Prime Minister since he shifted his allegiance to Deputy President William Ruto.
The former MP has been on record saying he believes that the DP will clinch the presidency in 2022.
