A section of Kenyans on social media has reacted to the recent closure of Moi University’s School of Medicine and College of Health Sciences in Eldoret.
According to a memo from the university's administration, the two faculties were closed due to the unrest that was being witnessed at the institutions.
Some of the students at the closed schools took to Twitter to complain over the long durations taken to complete their studies. The students argued that the closure of the schools will waste time that would otherwise have been used to study.
A section of Kenyans online called upon Education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha to intervene in the matter. The netizens urged the Education CS to help the students resume their studies.
While some blamed the administration of the university for not prioritising the interests of the students, others blamed the leaders for engaging in politics instead of helping the students.
Some of the students are said to have travelled all the way to Nairobi and camped outside the Ministry of Education offices hoping to be addressed by CS Magoha.
It still remains unclear as to when the students will resume studies at the closed faculties.
Here are some of the reactions from Twitter.
