The Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) is not aimed at benefiting any individual politician, Makadara Member of Parliament George Aladwa has said.

The BBI task force was formed by President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM boss Raila Odinga after their 2018 truce, to help solve the nation's leadership and political challenges.

With the task force set to hand over its report to the president anytime soon, some politicians have questioned it, claiming it harbours a plot to expand the executive to house more individuals.

Speaking on Saturday, Aladwa rubbished claims the BBI initiative seeks to benefit Raila and Uhuru, by handing them top executive slots.

"BBI is not intended to make either Raila or Uhuru president , it seeks to bring calm after elections (Hii BBI sio ya kuweka eti Raila ama Uhuru rais, hii ni ya kuleta usalama baada ya kura)," he said on Radio Jambo's Mazungumzo Waziwazi.

About the continued unity between the two leaders after their truce, Aladwa said Raila is working with the president to create peace and stability in the country.

"We are not in government, Raila is only helping his brother to bring peace in the country. (Sisi hatujaingia serikali, Raila anasaidia tu ndugu yake kuleta amani kwa nchi)," he added.
