In a tweet on Thursday afternoon, Khalwale warned that extending Uhuru's term limit might lead to chaos and a revolution in the country.

"The Presidential term limit in Kenya is a constitutional safe guard meant to overhaul leadership every 10 years. Attempts by the handshake team to expand the executive is meant to perpetuate dynasties. This must be rejected by the hustlers as it would breed chaos & a revolution," said Khalwale.

Khalwale came out to explain why the constitution limited presidential terms. He noted that calls by President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee Party members and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) members led by Raila Odinga will be a move to maintain dynasties.

Khalwale, who is grooming to run Kakamega gubernatorial seat is behind Deputy President William Ruto to take the mantle from Uhuru come 2022.

His sentiments come at a time when succession politics have heated up in the country. ODM leaders are pressuring President Uhuru to name Raila as his successor.
