Kiambu Governor Ferdinard Waititu has come out to clear the air over claims that he is being investigated over the purchase of multi-billion properties in Nairobi Central Business District.
The social media has been awash that the vocal leader is under the watch of anti-corruption agencies over ‘wealth amassed only 10 months after becoming governor’.
Waititu said he bought the prime properties long before he became a governor thorugh a bank loan.
"Mimi sijatafuta pesa leo baada ya kuwa governor. Watu wawache maneno mingi, hizo nyumba nilinunua kitambo. Na records za loan ziko kwa bank, waende waangalie,” Waititu said.
He said that the reports on social media are the works of political schemers who want t oust him in 2022.
“People should not use false things to bring people down, I cannot steal my money of people who elected me,” he added.
