President Uhuru Kenyatta's first ever trip to Gusii region on Wednesday will be tight as expected given the number of events he's scheduled to attend to.
The Head of State, noted North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko, will instead meet Nyamira County leaders in Kisii after last minute decision to cancel the trip under unclear circumstances.
"We hand special arrangements that he passes by Nyamira but the schedule cannot allow him. I am requesting our people to bear with us. He will meet us in Kisii.
"Later on this year, we shall ensure he comes to Nyamira. It's our obligation to ensure he visits and that is a guarantee," he said at an interview in Minto FM.
The president will land at Kereri Girls at 10 O'clock before proceeding for leaders meeting at an opposite government building, not far from the institution.
After that, he will address a gathering at Capitol Roundabout and proceed to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital where a host of activities are expected.
Among other things he's expected to launch are doctor's hostels, 250-bed make ward, CT Scan machine, Kisii University Medical School.The medical school will come with modern Histology, Anatomy labs with a morgue also expected to be launched by the President.
In the company of Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i, Health Minister Cicely Kariuki, Prof George Mogoha, Uhuru will leave for Kisii School where he will address a gathering.
Both Nyamira and Kisii County leaders are expected to grace the occasion even though sources hint that a number of Nyamira leaders will skip.
