He was speaking in Masalani sub-county, Garissa on Friday during a community dialogue and public participation exercise organized by the entity in conjunction with the Department of Trade.

The CO reiterated the need to involve the communities in the various projects the county government is implementing as a means to avert the sense of exclusion the communities feel whenever they are not consulted with on how and when those projects should be done.

“We are appealing to county government leaders and other elected leaders to work closely with the community. Gone are the days when those who were holding leadership positions used to make decisions without consulting,” he said.

The county CEC for trade and tourism Adow Jubat also while speaking at the event echoed the words of the Executive director, adding that as the county government, they are striving to enact enabling legislative pieces that would guarantee the county business community an avenue to share the issues they want addressed and how best to address them.

The CEC also urged the business people to cooperate with the county officials by paying taxes in a view to fast-tracking the county operations.
